I thought I was at the Waitangi museum where you can see the treaty signed between UK and Maori people (I read what's written on the building on the right) but I was at a teachers conference about "how to restore the pride of being Maori". It was completely out of my plans but really interesting (and the museum? 2km away... anyway I'll come back on Feb 6 "Waitangi day" treaty anniversary)
Waitangi falls.Kayaking is apparently the most popular activity on North Island.
Let's drive to Cape Reinga !
This place is far away from civilization: loosing FM radios one by one, no cell phone coverage, no village, no power, no gas station, you can get only rainwater with an awful taste. It is a sacred place for the Maoris: according to their beliefs, after death souls are travelling to the cape before going back to their Polynesian homeland.
